Product: Maybelline Colour Tattoo eye shadow
Shade: 45 Bold Gold
Price: Rs 350
Maybelline cream gel colour tattoo eye shadow comes in a little clear glass pot with a black plastic lid indicating details of shade.
I bought this product early February 2013 and although I am aware a free brush comes along with this product I didn’t receive any. I did mention to the SA that this should come with an applicator brush but she insisted that offer does not exist anymore. So slightly gutted about that.
As for the actual eye shadow, the shade is a beautiful shimmery gold, perfect for Indian skin tones. The shade itself is not too OTT as the gold is quite subtle and can be applied sheer or opaque depending on the drama required. The texture is creamy to start with and easily blendable and dries down on the eye lids in a few seconds. I used my MAC eye shadow brush 239 to apply this and it seems to do the job well.
The shade applies well and also seems to stand the test of time. It stayed put on my lids for about 4 hrs but I imagine it would last longer if need be. I am not big on eye make-up but I was instantly attracted to this shade given the versatility of application in that this can be applied either as a highlighter or as an eye shadow itself.
- Excellent pigmentation
- Glides on smoothly
- Lasts long without settling in to crease
- Bring the free brush offer back!
- Might dry out soon if not stored properly
Overall Rating: 4/5
